Takura Nyamfukudza is a graduate of Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University, where he majored in criminal justice. As a sophomore, Takura enlisted in the United States Army; he recently hung up his boots after serving his country proudly for twelve years. Takura is a passionate litigator who has enjoyed a number of successes in the courtroom, including fighting diligently to earn "not guilty" verdicts in multiple jury trials and successfully terminating PPO petitions. Takura was recently selected to receive the Rising Star Award from the Davis-Dunnings Bar Association. The Rising Star Award recognizes an outstanding young lawyer in the Greater Lansing community whose career demonstrates leadership, exemplary character, integrity, judgment, legal scholarship, and service to the profession and community through community-based organizations that strive to improve the lives of people in the Lansing community so as to make him a role model for others.

Takura is the Immediate Past-President and an Executive Board member for the Davis-Dunnings Bar Association and serves as co-chairperson of the Mentorship Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ingham County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section. He is also a proud member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, and the Michigan Association of OWI Attorneys. He has presented on issues related to the criminal justice system and criminal defense, including at the statewide conference offered by the Michigan Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights. Previously, he has worked at the Michigan Attorney General's Office in the Consumer Protection Division. Takura is also active in the community, volunteering his time at the Lansing Refugee Development Center and the Lansing Boys & Girls Club. Takura's commitment to serving the community extends to pro bono work, and he also volunteers legal services with Service to Soldiers.

Takura is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. In addition to criminal defense litigation, Takura represents clients during PPO hearings and driver's license appeals and restoration hearings. He is also an accredited attorney to represent veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs. Takura's passion for the law and commitment to excellence drives his work as an attorney. In addition to his bowtie, his trademark is that he respects every person he represents. His dedication is evident with every case.
